Noname Book Club is a Black owned business connecting community members both inside and outside carceral facilities with radical books. Each month we uplift one book written by a Black author. We believe building community through political education is crucial for our liberation. We also believe black people everywhere should have access to unlimited educational materials. This is why we make sure all the resources we offer are free!&nbsp; Since our founding in 2019 we have created 20 book club chapters across the United States and 4 international chapters (London, Lagos, Accra and Nairobi). In April 2021 we refocused our efforts on expanding our prison chapters and now send books to 1500 incarcerated members of the club. In Oct 2021 we opened the Radical Hood Library. In this space we have teach-ins, movie screenings, prison program packing, book drives etc. Not only are we committed to offering free resources to friends and family behind bars, we also think it's incredibly important to have revolutionary literature freely available in our local community. My name is Corey &amp; I’d like to start out by sending condolences to all of the family, friends, supporters of author, teacher, &amp; visionary bell hooks. I woke up this morning to the news that she passed away at the age of 69 years old. This is a tremendous loss to the world. The book (Salvation - Black People &amp; Love) that I just finished reading on Friday, was the first time I had ever heard of her. That’s crazy! This woman has been teaching the people to LOVE for decades. Admittedly, some of what she says made me pause at first, but because she delivers the message with love, I was able to continue reading &amp; gain a better understanding of her message. Everything that we do in life, even revolution, has to be guided by our love of ourselves first &amp; foremost… then &amp; only then can we cause REAL positive change. I don’t know how any black man could continue to be dismissive/disrespectful to any black woman after hearing or seeing bell hooks’ work. R.I.P. bell hooks. Long a target of J. Edgar Hoover's campaign to defame, infiltrate, and criminalize Black nationalist organizations and their leaders, Shakur was incarcerated for four years prior to her conviction on flimsy evidence in 1977 as an accomplice to murder.This intensely personal and political autobiography belies the fearsome image of JoAnne Chesimard long projected by the media and the state. First published in 1986, Decolonising the Mind is one of Ngũgĩ's best-known and most-cited non-fiction publications, helping to cement him as a pre-eminent voice theorizing the 'language debate' in postcolonial studies.
